2010 Participating Artists Information

Artist Hours:
The Peoria Art Guild 48th Annual Fine Art Fair is Saturday, September 25, and Sunday, September 26, from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. As a special privilege, Peoria Art Guild members, sponsors, and their guests will be admitted to the Fair at 9:00 am on Saturday morning for early shopping.

Check-in and Artist Registration:
You must check in before setting up your booth. All Artists will register at the Gateway Building located at the intersection of Hamilton and Water Streets (220 NE Water Street). We will go over Fair details and have volunteers available to help you set up. You will be directed to artist designated parking at registration. All artists must be set up by 8:30 am on Saturday and all vehicles must be out by 8 am.

Booth Spaces:
Booth spaces are 10' wide and 12' deep. Your tent or canopy must be white and 10' x 10'; artists are responsible for supplying all the necessary items for set up. Only sand bags and other weights may be used to secure the tents since they are on paved surfaces. Any damage to park grounds from the installation of a tent is the artist's responsibility. Occasionally, the Riverfront is very windy. Please bring extra weights just in case.

Electricity:
All artists needing electricity must have submitted a request in advance and paid the $15 fee. Those using electricity need to bring a long extension cord.

Security:
The Peoria Art Guild will be providing security 7:00 pm Friday until 7:00 am Saturday and 5:00 pm Saturday to 7:00 am Sunday. Although security will be present, The Peoria Art Guild and the Peoria Park District are not responsible for any property that is damaged, lost, or stolen.

Artists Dinner:
Our infamous artists' dinner is Saturday, September 25, 2010, at The Peoria Art Guild (just four blocks from the Fair). Doors open at 5:30 pm. There will be a vegetarian option. One artist per booth space will receive a complimentary dinner. Additional dinners are $15. Please complete the orange form in your August packet and return to RSVP. Attention Jewelry artists: We have a very secure room to store jewelry during dinner - please come!

Friday Night, September 24th:
Complimentary Pizza, Sandwiches and Beer (and non-alcoholic beverages) for artists will be provided Friday, September 24, at the Riverfront from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. No reservations are needed.

Exhibitor Equipment:
Artists are responsible for providing their own booth, equipment and insurance.

Sales Tax:
All sales proceeds are yours to keep. You are responsible for collecting and filing sales tax for Peoria, IL. Sales Tax forms will be provided at check-in.

Artist Rules:
The Peoria Art Guild Fine Art Fair has earned its reputation for enforcing the rules. Festival officials will visit all booths at intervals throughout the Fair to ensure that exhibitors comply with all Fair guidelines. It is our exclusive right and responsibility to remove work that is not in compliance. Repeated noncompliance will result in expulsion and ineligibility for judging, awards, and participation in future Fairs.

  1. Exhibiting artists must be present to exhibit their work during all hours of the Fair. Representatives are not permitted to take the place of the artist(s).
  2. A picture ID is required at artist check-in.
  3. Artists may only exhibit work in the category in which they have been accepted.
  4. All work must be original art produced by the exhibiting artist(s) and must be for sale. Studio production work, work from commercial molds, kits, hand-colored reproductions, and manufactured work will not be accepted.
  5. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed (e.g., ceramics or photography), each piece must be signed.
  6. All photographs and digital art must be signed and numbered limited editions.
  7. Inkjet/giclees are only allowed in digital art and photography categories and must be high-quality limited editions produced on archival stock.

  9. Reproduction Policy: If original work is copied by digital or photographic means and printed on an offset press, a serigraph press, or through a computer by means of an inkjet or electrostatic printer, this is a reproduction (includes giclees). Reproductions are limited to 20% of booth space (including calendars, postcards, etc.) and must be kept in a browsing bin. Each piece should be clearly labeled as a "reproduction" and not as an "offset lithograph" or "print."

  14. Artists are responsible for collecting and reporting all taxes. Sales tax forms will be provided at check-in.
